Project 1 part one

- tying shoes

I noticed that most of the people tie their shoes quite differently from how I do it myself. So what people normally do, is they make just a normal knot first, then they would make one loop, then make another loop around the first one and pull the back part of the second loop through the hole. However I find it much easier to just tie a knot, then make two loops and tie them together by making another knot. For some reason, my mother says that the way I do it is childish and usually this is how kids do it before they learn the "proper" way which is making the second loop by putting the second shoelace around the first loop.

- cereal (pouring milk)

I just recently found out that most of the people pour cereal first and then milk, while I, myself, pour milk first and then add cereal. One day I had a discussion with my boyfriend. He said that it is easier and more convenient to pour cereal first because that way you would know how much milk you need. But I argued that if you pour cereal first, they will be soaked in milk quicker as the milk will be poured on top of them and in consequence the cereal will lose it's crunchiness sooner.

- memory notes
Memory notes are undoubtedly part of everybody's everyday life. But everybody does it differently. I usually use my own hands for it. For all sort of things, such as shopping list, important things that I need to remember or tasks that I have to do. I find it very convenient because you are highly unlikely to lose your notes, since it become part of you. There is one disadvantage about my way of doing it because the ink will wash off when you wash your hands, but I usually use my arm between elbow and wrist. However some people use fridge sticky notes or notebooks and some prefer having important everyday tasks or info on their cellphones.

- putting make up (using lipstic in particular might be interesting)
This could be an interesting thing to research on because if you look at lipsticks used by different ladies you could notice that the shape of it changes from it's original depending on how they use it.

- treating a burn
What do people do when they burn themselves? Most of us would probably use ice or cold water, however many people have those "grandma's methods" such as putting raw egg or potato on it.

- studying
I find it very cool how people study in very different conditions. Some prefer to have music on, some prefer to be in a quite area. Some people need some backgroun noise such as TV. Some prefer to study in a group, yet many can only concentrate when they are alone. Some people need an organised workplace and study behind the table, but many like studying on their bed or couch or even floor, surrounded by books and paper.

- cutting vegetables
The way how people cut veges can be quite differen as well. Most of the people would probably cut their tomato in halfs and cut it one way first and then perpendicular to those first cuts. But some would cut one long piece and then cut it into smaller pieces and then cut the next long piece etc.

- crack an egg
Why do some people crack their egg using knife? While some crack it by hitting the surface of the table or the side of the pot or pan?
